A reply from a Boomer
I'm with you on wanting to hear the music. No clapping from me, and certainly no humming or singing.

* I haven't been to a concert that you would have been interested in since... well, forever. Regular old men/ Boomers like me have different taste in music. Not saying it's good or bad, just different.

* Concerts are such a letdown. Musicians just aren't as good live (IMO). Once again, just my opinion. As such, the live events are off key, not in tune, off cadence etc.. The skill or showmanship just isn't worth the entertainment dollar. I'd rather spend that entertainment dollar on BYU sports, TBH.

The only concert I felt was worth my time in the past decade was Hans Zimmer. The concert before that was Boston in the Marriott Center when I was attending BYU. Haven't really wanted to go a concert to clap or sing along.
