The fact that it can hold normal conversations is the scary part.
Nothing is particularly new, but it is now good enough to treat it as a normal human.
Anyone experiencing loneliness, for example, now has a quick and easy way to access a “friend” they can turn to instead of other people. That was possible before but not really intuitive, and I don’t think it will be good for society.
