I have a friend who was launching his boat by himself using his company van.
The van was full of expensive automotive electrical test equipment. Looking over his left shoulder, he was standing on the running board with one foot, using the gas pedal with the other foot, steering with one hand, and the rope from the boat tied around the other hand. He had no problem going straight, but when the boat got to the water, he tried to slow the vehicle, but hit the brake too hard, launching the boat in to the Sacramento River Delta, also pulling him out of the van as the rope connecting him to the boat was still wrapped around his hand. He was frantically flopping his hand around trying to get the rope off, as the van submerged into the delta and the boat floated happily off the trailer. Suddenly, a boat ramp with no one around to help him was full of amused spectators. Ultimately, he had to swim out to open the rear doors of the van so the water could drain out as a nearby farmer used his tractor to pull the van out of the river.
