My son is a high school baseball player and in attending games over the years I am often shocked by how much the parents complain about the umpires. You hear it from both sides in every game, all game long. They seem to believe that if they don't argue any close call that the umps will favor the other team.

It's not like the umpires are being paid a bunch of money. I figure they are doing their best and give them the benefit of the doubt when they do make a mistake. Maybe I feel that way because I have had to umpire a few games over the years and know what it feels like.
