I get it, he chose to begin his real life and career by accepting a quality job offer. And he likely didn't know Jaren was going to declare early for the NFL. But if he had stayed at BYU...
1-He would've been the unquestioned starter last season.
2-He already proved he could effectively run ARod's Offense, so 7+ wins would've been likely had he stayed healthy.
3-Even a moderately successful Senior season likely would've resulted in a shot at the NFL. He had the arm, size & athleticism necessary to be a prospect.
4-Sitting behind Zach and then Jaren would not be a stain on his resume for the NFL. He simply had to wait his turn behind two NFL QBs.
And finally...
5-The NIL money for a solidified starting QB at BYU is very good. By taking the job at Adobe, Baylor passed on $1M+ in NIL. Ouch.
6-The career opportunities in Utah available to highly recognizable former players are substantial.
