After drawing, you have to wait 5 years to put in for elk again. This will be his 3rd ML elk tag in 11 years or whatever the math is, all with 0 points. The odds of drawing that tag with 0 points this year (and I'm sure it was about the same the last two times) was 1.5%. I'm not sure what the odds are for that, but it's really, really slim.

I have never drawn a tag that I didn't have max points for - in other words, I have never gotten lucky in all my years of hunting. I have friends that have drawn multiple expo tags, lots of great tags with 0 or 1 point, etc, and here I sit languishing year after year, every year, until I get max points.
