...recall pitchers doing any pump-fakes like this. I don't really see the benefit of it in slow-pitch, as the hitter would have plenty of time to readjust his feet and reload, so it seems more like a nuisance than anything else.

Is this really a common practice (for those who are playing slow-pitch softball today)?
