I believe Tollner or Scovil left after ‘77
And the OC in ‘78 wasn’t very good. Lavell talked him up at the coaches convention after the ‘78 season and he was hired away from BYU and BYU rehired either Tollner or Scovil to come back and be the OC again in ‘79.

1978 was my freshman year. It was painful. We lost to both Utah and USU. Wilson and McMahon were bad.
