I considered a radon detection job when I lived in Utah almost 30 years ago, it
was a thing then too. Decided not to because I felt like it was mostly taking advantage of people’s fears, pushing the most expensive mitigation possible.

Meh, I'm not totally convinced that the risks in many cases aren't overblown to scare you into spending money.
