The cons are if you are a Utah resident and you are doing it to avoid Utah sales
tax and registration fees and get caught you can get fined and charged criminally.

Utah law enforcement long ago caught on to people registering their new car in Oregon or Montana. You can't drive around long in Utah with a Oregon or Montana plate on your car without attracting attention. Your neighbors will probably turn you in. Then it could be a big fine and jail time.

Not worth the risk.
