I was driving in downtown Ogden, I came to a four way stop, there was two cars pulled over by a police officer. I went through the four way veered to the left to give the cop room, I saw that it was a fender bender. As I passed the cop car I heard someone scream pull over you Jack-donkey. I scanned the surroundings more to find the cop now chasing me on foot, I slammed on my brakes and he came to the my widow, cussing me out and threatening to throw my rear end in jail. I was completely taken aback, he said to me do you not recognize a road block when you see one. I asked him how a cop on the side of the road signifies that a road is closed, his response was if you do not know then you should have your license revoked. He had me pull over to the curb, I gave him my license and registration, he went back to the fender bender folks who were now staring at me like I was a fugitive, I am sure they were practicing their speeches for the 5 o’clock news. After about 5 minutes the cop came back and immediately started apologizing to me for going crazy on me. He told me in actuality I did nothing wrong he was just having a bad week and I was the straw that broke the camels back.
I actually ran into this cop years later and he was now installing pools for a living. He said that the cop life was slowly killing him.
