...Didnt really know how to classify this post, so I put it in general college football because most of these guys are committed or will commit in the coming year.
But from some previous interviews I've heard from Harrison Taggart and other former CC players, apparently their fb Coach (Kjar) really emphasizes his football players to take up another sport during the offseason and many of them have turned to track, and they are turning out some incredible times for a Utah, suburb HS.
First off, Jerome Myles (who recently committed to Ole Miss and number 2 recruit in Utah for Class of '25) just broke the Utah HS 100M record yesterday, running a 10.36 breaking the state record of 10.47 that has stood for 43 yrs. I believe Cody Hagen has the third fastest time ever in the state at 10.52 (also, unsurprisingly of Corner Canyon)
In addition to Myles finishing top in 6A, Corner Canyon finished all top 3 spots and one more (so 4 total) in the top 7 in the state 100m finals
1. Jerome Myles, Corner Canyon, Jr., 10.36
2. Bryton Brady, Corner Canyon, Jr., 10.67
3. Chryshaun Lee, Corner Canyon, Jr., 10.73
7. Brayden Eyre, Corner Canyon, Sr., 10.91
Bryton Brady is a Jr RB that ran for over 1000 yds and 10.4 ypc avg and 21 TDs
Chryshaun Lee is a Jr WR had about 350 yds receiving playing in the shadow of Myles, but he's fast also, although a little smallish prob currently for a P4 prospect. Guessing he plays in the slot
Brayden Eyre is a Sr WR that had around 500yds receiving also playing in Myles shadow
Corner Canyon also has Tate Kjar (coaches son and USU Commit) has also run a 10.85 100m this year, but may have been injured for the state final (cant find him anywhere) but had 1,800 yds receiving this past season and 1,600 his Jr year w/ Isaac Wilson slinging it.
Corner Canyon has been open for a decade now and of all their top 20 fastest 100M times, ALL but 1 have come since 2021. Something in the water over there, or, they have a really good track coach... pretty impressive. Hopefully it continues, as that is a feeder into BYU.
If all these guys were 3-4 inches taller, they're prob all getting big looks nationally
