Question regarding ceiling fans and controlling them (wall switch, remote)
My living room and bedroom are wired for a ceiling fan, with 2 wall switches. I bought a couple of fans (with a light) and installed the one in the living room, but it is controlled with a remote so it only uses one of the wall switches and the remote controls both the fan and the light. Ok, that works. However, for the bedroom the more I think about it, I think I got the wrong fan for the situation.

The living room has plenty of other lights (lots of canned lights), but the fan in the bedroom will replace the light fixture in the bedroom and be the only source of light. It feels weird to me to use a remote to control the lighting for the entire bedroom rather than the wall light switch; I think I would prefer they use the wall switches instead, with the fan and light being controlled separately (a particular scenario I think of is entering the room when it's totally dark and trying to turn on the light). HCBW is under the impression that that wouldn't be a big deal, but I have concerns (as mentioned earlier). I guess one question for all you out there, if any of you have that kind of setup, what do you think of it? Am I overthinking it and it's actually not that bad, or do you wish you used wall switches to control the light?

Anyway, this next part is more geared towards electricians or handymen with some knowledge of it. Suppose I wanted to also replace the wall switch with a fan control switch (a slider control that controls the fan speed as well as on/off). How difficult is that to do? It seems simple, but I realize there may be considerations I haven't thought of. Keep in mind that I haven't really messed with wall switches or outlets in a long time, probably since I was a teenager helping my dad with home projects. Is it something I can easily do, or should I get an electrician involved? Also, suppose I get a fan that supports dimmable lighting (which I think most do), is that simple or is there more to that as well? Thank you all.
