TV shows can be watched or recorded to a NAS. It also allows the programs to be accessed remotely anywhere in the world you can get a WiFi connection on a Plex capable deivce. In a closer-to-home scenario, I have an HD antenna in my attic which feeds four HDHomerun tuners. I have this integrated with Plex. My kids all over Utah can then watch KJZZ (or any other local OTA channel) for Jazz games via their Plex accounts without the need to setup HDHomerun/antenna in their homes.
