Let's say it takes them 7 hours. That is 286 words per hour, so about $20/hour
(using the $0.07 per word rate). Definitely not great pay, but journalism isn't exactly famous for paying well — if Jacobin even counts as journalism. Also, it isn't 24/7 writing, which is what the post I was replying to implied.
