Here is a mystery- I’m at my parents house (built in the early 1970s). I opened up the breaker box because I’m going to
replace one of the light fixtures in the basement. In this 50 year old panel, there is an unlabeled 70 amp circuit. It looks vintage. It’s not for the dryer or range or AC- those breakers are labeled. 70 amp is a big beefy circuit and I have no idea where it goes. There isn’t a sub panel anywhere that I know of. Maybe it’s not hooked up to anything, but that is weird. What would a 70 amp circuit be for in a house built in the 1970s?
