My employer's plan covers both short-term and long-term disability. Even if it
didn't, I'm privileged to be in a financial position where the coverage amounts provided by UM/UIM wouldn't move the needle much one way or the other.

I don't recommend rejecting UM/UIM as a general rule, but there are some exceptions like mine.
