Cost of living for families is a serious problem, but it’s still not to this level. Unless by “comfortable” for a family of four they mean new cars, lots of eating out, and luxury travel.

Comfortable means food on the table, a solid roof over your head, a working vehicle, and enough income to handle a reasonable unforeseen expense.
