These could be programmed to have any field design possible, they could actually HAVE a first-down yellow line, show replays, etc.

The field could also be shaped exactly like and feel like grass, and if there is any damage, you can just replace a panel or two (or even small units) by plugging them into a control board below.

This would be extraordinarily expensive, but so cool looking - and very original.
