My wife received a call today saying she missed jury duty. I heard my wife talking to someone and getting upset in the
Other room and immediately went in when I heard her say jury duty.

Sure enough, someone was trying to scam my wife saying she missed jury duty in courtroom 1A. She was completely upset because we’re in Baltimore for my oldest daughter’s masters graduation and said she had no idea. I had her tell them to talk to me, and I immediately asked them for the details. He proceeded to tell me she missed jury duty, and they wanted to resolve this. I told him I was surprised because we hadn’t received any mail notification of jury duty. I asked if there was a fine or penalty for her missing jury duty, and he responded that there will be.

I told him I don’t believe him and that this was a scam. I told him that the court would not have called and things would have been handled much differently. He said he would refer things to the Criminal Complaints Department to which I asked him more details which he said he could not reveal to me. I told him my wife is right here and I’ll put her on speaker. He then just hung up.
