Heard on the radio that Cam Rising's foundation (I think it is called Rising Stars) is putting together meals for homeless kids. Super cool anytime an athlete gives back.
What struck me, however, is he is a college athlete with a charitable foundation. Which I suppose is the natural outcome of big NIL deals. It also most likely means he is getting a ton of professional legal and tax advice. It goes without saying these are pro athletes now.
I occassionally pause and think that just two or three years ago, college kids weren't making six or seven figures, didn't have agents, didn't have foundations, etc. What a massive sea change to college athletics with more to come (yesterday's vote on schools paying players is enormous...)
