Misplaced expectations is the non offensive way of describing the same
phenomenon.

Rather than giving Sitake credit for OVERACHIEVING from 20-22, the spin is that he has regressed and needs to be replaced. The idea that BYU or any program can compete week in and week out with programs that have huge advantages in money, resources, facilities, and recruiting access is a complete illusion.

We are going to take some tough losses this year. My hope is that there are fewer than last year. I am taking a long term approach to BYU football and expect incremental growth over the next few years (which may not show up in the win-loss column).

So many BYU fans are hung up on the QB situation this year. I am not. You cannot win at a high level if you do not have high level play in the trenches. I am hoping for tougher and more cohesive play in the offensive and defensive lines and commensurately improved recruiting in both areas.

'Low T' might be poor form but the main point is essentially 100% correct. There is no magic coming in 2024 for BYU football and fans shouldn't expect it. 2023 was the initiation of a 5-10 year program to vastly improve the infrastructure of the program. There will be some great highs along the way but those will be the exceptions rather than the rule. If you don't keep that in mind, you run the risk of running off quality coaches like Michigan almost did to Jim Harbaugh a couple of years ago.
