Today is the official last day of school. Our corner of the neighborhood typically does a big water fight where some of the parents (Mostly Moms) ambush the kids upon getting home and it's basically mass chaos for 30 mins or so. Welp....my 12 yo son hit our 10 yo daughter really hard in the face with a water balloon. I'm talking Harry Dunne full on snowball style (ala Dumb & Dumber) to the face.

I was upstairs working and came down to see my daughter absolutely seething......I had no idea what was going on. She was saying all kinds of things about how much she hates her brother. At this point I had no idea what was going on. I give her a hug and she blurts out...."He hit me in the face with a water balloon as hard as he can and it made my face go numb!!!!"

At this point I'm kinda trying hard not laugh. And I ask her to steer clear of him when he walks through the door. She's not having it. She wants her revenge. She's crying so hard she's doing the red dots on the forehead, snot bubble kind of crying.....she can be an emotional girl, but this is one of the most emotional I've seen her. Of course when the 12 yo walks in she immediately tries lobbing a water balloon at him point blank and misses by a mile, instead hitting her 6yo brother smack dab in the face. I didn't realize she was hiding the water balloon. 6 yo begins crying. There's now a broken water balloon and water on the carpet. My wife is just staring at me. I'm trying so hard not to laugh.

I had to feign I was mad at them, but the inner kid in me was laughing.
