Historically if a car had 70% of value in damage they were totaled, now I prepare all my customers to be ready for the total loss determination. I tell them to start shopping their old car to determine value and start looking for their next car in case the car is totaled. Good thing to know is once you have received an offer for your totaled car you will lose Rental car from your own insurance or the other parties insurance if they are at fault within a day or two.
