Seeing BYU step up with Kevin Young and, apparently, now players on the NIL front is giving me a different view of the big BYU sports efforts.

The fact is, BYU and its boosters have money. BIG Money. We just are used to it being used sparingly and the boosters often told to keep it in their pockets. I like where this is heading lately.

If the competition is now mostly about money, and BYU's BoT is ready to play, we can really clean up. There is real upside to saying: "Wait. All you need to win is money now? Great! We have that."

BYU grads are loaded. Many are happy to let the dollars fly. Many P4 schools do not and cannot.

Who'd have thought college players going pro could mean BYU rises to the top?
