When you're young, the world is your oyster. Anything is possible. Obstacles don't matter. Do whatever your heart desires for a job.
But when you're in the sunset of your career, and options are limited, you lose that sense of wonder and adventure. You just want to avoid getting laid off by some hotshot new manager, seeking ever younger talent.
It's then that you realize you don't really care for all the younger managers. You know, the ones who look down on the "Boomer" generation - thinking that they're all old, stupid and slow. They're willing to trade experience for youthful enthusiasm.
It's funny how they don't realize that in their own sense of inflated infallibility they're only a few short years away from being cast aside themselves as being too old, incapable and irrelevant. Then they can enjoy the smugness they're been giving out.
