He's probably still going to be the backup in the fall. We'll see
in fall camp. Gaskins is a pretty good QB. McEuen certainly isn't
far better than Gaskins at this point, it's the other way
around.
There are a lot of good players who are impressive. Of course JJ
looked good but he was playing against BYU's third and fourth
string defensive players. That's not much of an indication how he
will look against other teams. He's good though, he's got a future
at BYU.
Not only did the first stringers not play but half the players on
the team did not participate in the scrimmage. I counted 20 plus
players on each side of the ball who had their hats off on the
sidelines and never got in the scrimmage at all. Only a couple of
the second team players such as QB, got in the scrimmage. So we
really only saw a bunch of the young players go at it. But it was
still entertaining and it's nice to know there is that much talent
and depth on the team. Looks really good for the future.
