It was Bret Egnamann. we were a struggling team. He threw a pick six at our 15 yard line. I was sitting Very close to the play.
The DB/LB basically trotted it in for a TD. Bret put his hands on his head and WATCHED!! him walk it in.
Embarassing an inexcusable. That team was a bunch of quitters to be honest and the loyal fans were ticked. Every game felt like the AFA game this year.
So yeah, Id boo a BYU QB if he quits, and I don't care if President Monson himself wants us all to be KumByYaa about not giving 100% effort. I paid good money, and I'm fully invested. I expect the players to be too.
Booing is part of football, it really is. Most of it is directed at the refs anyway. You'd have a better chance to convert the Pope than stop booing at a football game.
And no, Booing isn't this "bad sportsmanship" thing people think about. Its how 60k fans can vent frusteration and be heard. I've actually seen booing fire up the team. Especially a good defense, they can feed off a Boo like crazy. The best boos at LES are the ones that last an entire drive. Good stuff.
