Reasons to be confident
1. Quality assistant coaches
2. Fewer transfers in: Last year we had about 30 new players and 21 who contributed. Lassiter and Martin said they were often guessing about their assignment, because they were not totally familiar with the playbook.
3. Coach Woods: The OL is very confident with the new scheme and coach. Connor Pay says they are more confident as a unit and Coach Woods had the TE's and running backs practicing together more with OL.
4. 2nd year under Jay Hill: The defense is more familiar with Jay Hill's defense.
5. TE's: New coach Keving Gilbride and more athletic TE's with Keanu Hill, Ryner Swanson, Ethan Erickson and Jackson Bowers along with more experienced FB-type TE's Mason Fakahua, Mata'ava Ta'ase, Ray Paulo. The TE room is deep and confident.
6. All the QB's are Dual threat QB's. Keanu Hill says the receivers are confident in the QB's even as fans are concerned.

Try to keep in mind that BYU has been at a recruiting disadvantage compared to other P5 teams by being an Indy program.

IMO, most of that falls on Lamb & Tuiaki's recruiting. Fortunately, both are gone. Let's see what happens going forward.
