Kalani's teams have averaged 8 wins/season in 7 seasons. How does that compare?
How does that compare to other teams and coaches in that same period? (I don't know.)
I think some people are down on Kalani because of recency bias, i.e. mainly because last year was a particularly bad year, and despite being in the Big 12, OUR expectations were not low, and IMHO an average BYU team could actually have done very well against last year's schedule.
The sports gods are fickle. I will wait a year to pass any judgement.

Try to keep in mind that BYU has been at a recruiting disadvantage compared to other P5 teams by being an Indy program.

IMO, most of that falls on Lamb & Tuiaki's recruiting. Fortunately, both are gone. Let's see what happens going forward.
