There are definitely people on here who have watched more, but I watch more movies than the average person. I've watched many movies that are considered to be "artistic". Most of these artistic (usually indie) movies are incredibly boring or confusing. I think that what makes a film "great" is simply in the eye of the beholder, and what film experts consider great doesn't necessarily mean that it is great. If what Nolan has done is so much beneath what great filmmakers do, then why aren't they replicating what he does to cash in on the blockbusters?
