and for what reward? BYU is in a very precarious position right now...a no-mans land if you will. We have stepped up to play a P5 schedule without P5 resources. Our travel arrangements...which do matter...ask any NFL team...are obscene.
Right now BYU is seen as being P-5 equivalent, even if we don't get those resources. Are you willing to risk 5...10...15 years of coaching changes...one...two...maybe three Crowton-like eras...in the hope that maybe BYU has that one special season? Because that's a very realistic risk.
It happens at college football royalty. We're not that... Would you risk multiple losing seasons...a coaching carousal...and the drop of BYU's perception far below what it is right now, on the hope that maybe one of those coaches might be a Mormon Urban Meyer...if you can even be a Morman Urban Meyer at BYU?
