I think it comes down to player's perceptions.
These guys sit in film rooms all day every day and break down what happened in broken plays, why a ball was over/under thrown, why a receiver dropped the ball, who missed what block, etc...

If the conclusion you come up with is "he had 1.5 seconds to make a read and throw a ball, that's on the O-Line" or "he hit the player square in the hands and the receiver dropped it", yet you still bench your QB, you lose a lot of player trust.

It also kills me that we have lost 4 games, all to ranked teams (UCLA has since fallen out of the rankings) by a combined 8 points and CB has lost it's freaking mind.

The problem is bigger than Hill here, people. We're through the roughest part of the schedule, besides Louisville, we're most likely to win out the rest of our games. Hill is our guy, going on CB and ranting about it isn't going to change that.
