For example, I'm sure whoever spoke was not intending to say that you are being a better parent if you have a big yard. Your home or even 400 sq ft apartment is also a safe haven where you set rules and accomplish the same thing. Are Hong Kong parents or those who can't afford big lots therefore not living as righteously as those with big yards?
I also don't think whoever spoke intended members to think they shouldn't play at parks. Learning how to interact with people who don't share the same values with you is a critical part of being a missionary.
That was one leader's personal experience, not a recipe for parenthood. I'm sure the only point he was trying to make was that you kids should have a safe haven, not that we should all have big yards
