I drive by these new neighborhoods in Utah & can't believe how close the houses
are to each other. You can almost touch your and your neighbors house. They don't have a yard either. If you are elderly, I completely understand not wanting a big yard. Judging by the bikes and plastic basketball stands, most of the people that seem to buy these homes have young children. Most of the newer homes, unless they are a legitimate custom home are just slapped together too.

We have an older home. We have a .52 lot and it was $40k less than a house of the same size on a .12 acre lot. Maybe I am old fashion, but I would rather buy an older home with a huge lot and do upgrades with the money that I save.
