that the NFL people do not perceive the BYU football program as being a good place for developing talent for the NFL. That perception is very damaging to the football program. Talented recruits (like Bolles) will go elsewhere because of that perception, and I can't blame them at all. BYU will be left with lower tier recruits who know they will likely never have a chance to play in the NFL, so they don't care about development for the next level. This does not bode well at all for the future of the program.
You can take all this talk from Bronco and Holmoe about playing competitively against national power teams in coming years with a grain of salt - it takes talented players to compete at that level, system and execution without the talent are not enough.
