your causality analysis is way off, NBA picks skew for potential, not production
that is the reason that so many 19 year olds are drafted so high.
Basketball success hinges greatly upon the talent of your best players, so justifying high risk picks on 19 year olds is okay, but if you are really as astute as you say, you would have to admit, there is a high rate of boom or bust with the low age picks, and they are only used on about the lottery pick range, which Mika has never been projected to be.
After that pick range, teams pick for what they think will be guaranteed production, that is where Mika will be drafted if he is to ever be drafted into the NBA.
