But yeah, age is a big factor because it is one of the primary tools used to gauge potential.
My point was that Mika would be a first rounder if he were 19 and averaged 20 and 9....that's both from my own perspective and because an NBA scout told me so.
Age is just one of the things NBA teams look at to gauge potential---if you are 22 or 23 you better be ready to make a contribution. If you are 18 or 19 many teams will draft you high even if they think you are 2 years away from being a solid contributor.
When you are young you have the luxury of teams giving you a long leash---old players have almost no leash.
