Same reason we have a group of BYU fans that drink
It is not about promoting an agenda, but about gathering before a game or sitting with others you have a higher comfort level with or maybe more in common. Bottom line is we are still all Cougar fans and that is all that should be relevant.
I can enjoy a game with LDS fans that don't drink, same as gay and straight fans can do the same. Nothing wrong with associating with a group that have a common thread though and it in no way promotes drinking or homosexuality, just friends hanging out with similar lifestyles.
