It's not unrealistic to expect improvement, which has been slow for sure
Coaches have to do a better job of calling plays that let Hill make easier throws. Even NFL QB's aren't going to complete a high percentage of passes when 90% of them are 15+ yard throws.

Hill has to relax and set his feet. For example, on that quick hitter to the TE, he almost always goes from taking the ball out of the RB's gut to chucking the ball in one motion - very bad. He has to learn to play jacked up when he's going to run and relaxed when he's going to throw. That's a hard thing to learn, but the coaches can help him by putting receivers in better places to catch easy passes.

Obviously, timing is a huge issue. It was Hill's biggest issue last year, too. That will take more time to improve than the other issues.

It's not unrealistic to expect receivers to catch the football, either. If the ball is within six inches of your frame, there is no excuse not to hold onto it. If you get two hands on the ball without extending your arms all the way, there is no excuse not to hold onto it. The receivers have been by far the biggest disappointment of the season.

But it is unrealistic to expect our offense to be good at this point in the season. Very little has broken their way (Hoff's hamstring, weather vs. UVa, Williams getting hurt Saturday, etc). Even if everything had broken their way, it would still have been unrealistic to expect them to look like Arizona's offense, much less Oregon's.
