Both interpretations can be true - too many excuses and unrealistic expectations can coexist, particularly when it comes to a community of thousands.

Bronco screwed up benching Heaps in favor of Riley. Bronco screwed up sticking with Riley for more than a series in the Utah game, probably for starting him at all.

And on and on. Lots of screwing up going on, no doubt about it. But trying to install an aggressive offense with an offensive line of dubious talent and a QB coming off an injury and to bring that offense up to speed against talented, if not always well-coached, defenses should be met with a degree of patience that very few people on here have demonstrated.
