So essentially BYU football means less to you than it does to most of us

and that's fine. Just don't pretend losing to Utah shouldn't matter to the rest of us. Those who have lived in Utah at some point and been around the rivalry feel strongly about it. It affects us tremendously when Utah dominates us like they have recently.
