1. It is either made up (very elaborate details I will admit), or
2. He is putting his friend in a very precarious position where he is divulging confidential information into an FBI investigation. Not only is that stupid, but his friend cloud earn jail time, fines and/or loss of a job as a result of the author's careless posting.

I would keep your information to yourself and not jeopardize your friend's career.
