are worth so much, but maybe it has to do with how someone who is good at stealing the ball can affect the game the way a shot-blocker can. If a player or two have the ball stolen a couple of times, they start to play with a bit more hesitation or throw passes farther away from the rim (generally avoid attacking the good defender).....not really sure, but it is a cool model to review.
