I don't think - the schedule on FBS uses "VS." not "or"
Notice on the Cotton Bowl line within the site I provided earlier, it states:
at-large vs. Group of Five
It does not say "Or" as your post suggests.
The Cotton Bowl is no part of the playoffs in 2014-15. They are however a host for a semi-final game in 2015-16.
As I mentioned, I expect the at-large team to be from the Big Five. But it would not eliminate BYU from replacing the Group of Five.
Our discussion is probably a mute point. Like I mentioned originally, this is my second option (opinion) with the Christmas Bowl being my 1st option. I have seen a post now citing a Florida bowl has been BYU's focus for a few months. That's a possibility with the new bowls again with the "Group of Five" as being contracted.
