Some people forget that Riley wasn't given the starting job, he got it when Jake was benched and the offense was markedly better with him in there.
There were a lot of screaming that the rest of the offense was the problem (and it certainly was a problem), but with what we know now, the issue wasn't us screwing up Jake, it was just that Jake wasn't very good.
