If you look at their pass defense rankings that year, some of them were atrocious. I think UCF finished they year in the 100's and USU was pretty bad that year too. Ole Miss was well south of average too. Texas was the only good pass defense that Jake played against. Riley didn't just win the USU game with Hail Mary's and tipped passes.

Jake, on the other hand, did make a living his Freshman year off pass defenses in the 80+ range.
