He's had an unbelievable career and reached some of the real pinnacles of his profession.

He parted on bad terms with BYU, but pretty much every coach with serious ambition has had that happen at least once in their life.

My impression is that he wishes things had gone differently, but he doesn't lose a lot of sleep over it anymore, and has plenty of positive memories both from BYU and elsewhere to fill his scrap book.
