To each his own. But you're in the minority.
As far as I know, Geoff Tate and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) are the only mainstream metal vocalists with classical opera training, which is why they have 4+octave range. Most of the world thinks Tate's voice is pretty phenomenal. I guess you don't.
