I served a mission for the Church.

Got no compensation. Actually paid to do it. Worked under an authoritative power structure that had a say over everything I did.

Somehow, never thought of myself as a slave.

Having said that, I think there's room to compensate athletes who bring a lot of dough into these universities. I just think calling what they're doing now 'slavery' is borderline ridiculous.

Funny South Park episodes nothwithstanding.
